Not long ago, I was living the corporate America grind, spreadsheets, meetings, the whole routine. Then in 2025, my family and I took a summer-long trip to Ireland, and it changed everything.
My wife Amanda and our three kids, Eli, Emilia, and Ethan, spent weeks exploring the Irish countryside together. We stood at the edge of the Kerry Cliffs, wandered through centuries-old castles, waved at more sheep than we could count, and fell completely in love with the unhurried pace of Irish life. But what struck us most was the pub culture: those warm, welcoming spaces where strangers become friends over a pint, and every night feels like a celebration.
That trip reconnected me with my Irish heritage in a way I didn’t expect, and by the time we got home, I couldn’t shake the feeling that we needed to bring a piece of that magic back to the Midwest.
So that winter, I got to work in our driveway in Delano, Minnesota. There were no blueprints, no formal designs, just an idea I couldn’t stop thinking about. Day after day, with help from a few friends and family along the way, I built the pub from the ground up until it finally looked like what I’d been picturing all along.
That pub became The Irish Traveller, our mobile slice of Ireland, built to bring the same warmth, community, and craic we found overseas straight to your next celebration. Inside, it comfortably fits 12 to 15 guests, so there’s a cozy spot for people to settle in and chat while the service window keeps serving drinks to everyone else at the party. Our goal was never just to build a mobile bar. We wanted a place where people linger, tell stories, and feel like they’ve walked into somewhere special.
We set out to bottle the feel of an old-school Irish pub and pair it with the comfort people expect today, and we think we landed it. A driveway project in Delano has turned into The Irish Traveller: a one-of-a-kind Irish pub experience we’re excited to bring to events across Minnesota.
Sláinte,
Alex and Amanda
